The Gold Nugget

The Gold Nugget is a charming gift shop on Buckingham Street next to the museum. Step inside and you will find a wide selection of arts, crafts, jewellery, clothing and gifts to suit all tastes.

With a focus on local and New Zealand made goods, The Gold Nugget offers Māori-carved masks and tekos, pottery, fine wooden items, bone carvings, locally made handknits, and more.

The name ‘Gold Nugget’ harks back to the goldrush days of Arrowtown, during which, this store was a general store for the local miners. The building has been a gift shop since 1952, and we are proud to have served the Arrowtown community and its visitors over this time.
