Jenny Mehrtens Artist

I am a local Arrowtown artist, primarily a painter. I grew up in Dunedin, qualified as a physiotherapist and in the 1980’s started my clothing label, Jenny Haggitt Originals.

My art journey 20 years ago after raising a young family in Wellington. I have worked for many years as a full-time artist and am known for my way of using variegated metal leaf to make artworks.

My series range from Q-ART codes to large portraits to detailed imagined worlds and every year I do many commissioned works. I have exhibited locally and internationally, and my works are in private collections worldwide.

Visitors are welcome to my beautiful studio/gallery space in Arrowtown’s Dudley’s Cottage Precinct near The Dishery. My artworks are only available from my website or my studio.
